Territory Families’ Specialised Assessment and Treatment Services team provides high quality assessment and targeted intervention to address and support behaviour change in young people in detention.
As Principal Psychologist, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of programs and services, to young people in accordance with best practice youth justice principles. This includes conducting and overseeing the provision of clinical, risk and treatment needs assessments, developing operational guidelines and applying and interpreting psychometric tests.
To be successful you need a tertiary qualification in psychology, eligibility for registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and extensive experience in psychological practice, assessments, evaluations and delivering behaviour-changing interventions. Knowledge of the principles of Risk Need Responsivity and reducing recidivism and best practice therapeutic frameworks are essential. Relocation assistance provided for suitable applicant.
