Our services include health care, employment assistance, case coordination, housing, financial relief, food, social and recreational activities.

THE ROLE

The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all financial aspects of ASC. Providing timely and accurate financial accounting services to the CEO, management team and board of directors as well as ensuring all compliance requirements are being adhered to.

The role also actively engages with managers and staff to ensure they have a sound understanding of how finance intersects and supports their work and the broader ASC organisation.

This is an ongoing position at 0.8 FTE (4 days per week).

The successful candidate must be flexible to rotate between working from home and from our office located in Newtown.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review of Fortnightly payroll for up to 30 staff
  • Processing and management of the accounts payable function
  • Treasury management
  • Preparation of Monthly cash flow statements and forecasts
  • Month end accounting and close including all preparation of monthly Profit and Loss statements, and Balance sheet reports
  • Budget preparation and reporting to CEO, following consultation with the management team
  • Preparation of Finance reports for the CEO Board and Finance Sub-committee
  • Collaboratively engage across the whole organisation to improve financial literacy
  • Support staff with cost benefit analysis of ASC initiatives
  • Working with and developing Management knowledge of budgets and costing submissions

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

To be successful in this position, it is essential that you can demonstrate in your application:

  • Strong finance background
  • CA or CPA qualification
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Experience using accounting software
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, written and oral skills
  • Commitment to professional standards as outlined by protocols, rules and regulations
  • High degree of initiative to think innovatively and creatively to solve problems
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team that is multidisciplinary and inclusive of paid and unpaid team members
  • Ability to work effectively in a high performing and faced past environment
  • Respect for and inclusion of diversity in its many forms

DESIRABLE

  • Quickbooks and payroll experience
  • Experience using Xero
