About the role:

The purpose of this position is to provide parental leave coverage for the Community Engagement Coordinator. The role will look to expand ASC's community fundraising events, increase participation in community led and third party events, and improve community awareness of the positive impact of their support for people seeking asylum.

The position will be directly responsible for the Community Speakers’ Program while identifying, recruiting and stewarding supporters from schools, universities, workplaces, clubs, community groups and other target audiences to make ASC their charity of choice. The position will also provide administrative support to the Fundraising and Philanthropy teams.

This is a part time (24 hrs per week), 6 month fixed term parental leave contract. The successful candidate must be flexible to rotate between working from home and from our Centre in Newtown.

You will be a great team player with strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills. You will thrive on creating opportunities for communities to engage with ASC, and on strengthening our existing partnerships. We are seeking someone who can share the values and vision of ASC throughout our fundraising activities. You will demonstrate professionalism, integrity and a clear respect for human dignity and for the rights of people seeking protection.
