The ASU is seeking to appoint a Retention Officer on a part-time basis to join our Membership Team.

Are you great at speaking with people on the phone? Do you love spreadsheets? Do you share the core values of the Union movement?

This role is responsible for implementing our member retention strategies, primarily calling and communicating with members to keep them in the Union movement. The role will also include some data entry and analysis as well as administrative support for organising staff.

The role is 15 hours per week (flexible on days) and will primarily be based in our Redfern head office.

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated commitment to trade Union principles.
  • High level verbal communication skills.
  • High level of knowledge and competency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to accurately record information in multiple databases.
  • Ability to analyse data and produce reports.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work autonomously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and implementing the communication strategy for member retention.
  • Regularly reporting on retention activities and emerging trends.
  • Responding to membership enquiries and issues as they arise.
  • Administrative support.

The position offers an attractive salary ($56,081 to $66,726 per annum pro-rata, plus superannuation) and generous working conditions.
