The Role
The ASU is seeking to appoint an Executive Assistant on a full-time basis. This position will be responsible for providing confidential executive support to the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Business Operations Manager and Leadership Team - this will include:
- Extensive diary management for the Secretary and Deputy Secretary;
- Ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times;
- Organise internal and external meetings as requested;
- Produce high quality documentation including letters, emails and submissions;
- Develop and distribute agendas, minutes and papers for Executive and Committee of Management meetings including formatting, editing and proof reading;
- Organise intrastate/interstate/international travel bookings, accommodation and hire cars as required;
- Liaise with stakeholders, affiliated unions, government bodies and members of the organisation;
- Provide support to the Business Operations Manager as required;
- Assist with conferences, events and other duties as directed;
- Organise office catering;
- Reception relief.
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated commitment to trade Unionism;
- Extensive experience with a minimum 3 years experience in a similar role supporting senior management preferably in a not-for-profit and / or a member based organisation;
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite);
- Experience in conference / event management;
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritise work, exercise judgement, initiative and a very high level of confidentiality, while providing high level support within a highly charged, politically sensitive environment;
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to engage effectively and courteously with a range of stakeholders;
- Willingness and ability to manage and adapt to conflicting varied demands in an environment subject to sudden change;
- Proactive and self-directed while also working as a positive team member;
- Current NSW drivers licence.
Conditions
- Full-time, 35 hours per week;
- Redfern based, close to public transport;
- Salary $74,711 to $82,967 dependent on experience
- 10% superannuation;
- 17.5% annual leave loading;
- 12 RDOs per year;
- 4 weeks annual leave plus Christmas shutdown;
- 6 months paid parental leave.
