The Project Officer will be responsible for the effective implementation and on-going management of NLC projects and programs in the Borroloola/Barkly region. You will be required to assist with consultations and relaying instructions from Traditional Owners and other Aboriginal groups relating to the use and management of their land, as required under the Aboriginal Land Rights (NT) Act 1976 (ARLA).

Applicants should have experience implementing project/program management activities to a high standard, including ability to effectively plan, coordinate and manage associated activities.

A high level of oral and written communication including the proven ability to interact effectively with Aboriginal people, and an understanding of the cultural, political, economic and social issues affecting Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory, is essential.

Significant travel to remote areas using 4WD vehicles is involved and possession of a driver’s licence and ability to safely drive 4WD drive vehicles is desirable.
