About the role

The Facilities & Operations Support Volunteer works alongside the Centre Coordinator at Refugee Resource Hub, Dandenong to assist with the everyday operations of the newly opened centre.

Refugee Resource Hub

The Refugee Resource Hub in Dandenong, is an integrated service model designed to increase the social and economic participation of people seeking asylum in the South Eastern suburbs. The ‘Hub’ model centres on the inclusion of people seeking asylum into the management and delivery of services by focusing on their aspirations, strengths, skills, experience and their ability to contribute to the wider community. In practice, it sees ASRC members, volunteers, staff and partner organisations working together in equal, interdependent relationships to create innovative solutions in meeting the needs of people seeking asylum.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing basic administrative support to the Centre Coordinator
• Assisting the Centre Coordinator with daily facilities management projects and tasks as requested.
• Being the contact for staff, volunteers and service providers for all practical operations including coordinating maintenance, equipment, OH&S issues, and developing processes.

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience in facilities management, building maintenance or corporate services would be an advantage
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a challenging and time-pressured environment
• A hands-on approach to dealing with issues and excellent customer service skills
• Demonstrated ability to use own initiative and ‘common sense’
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as effectively as part of a team
• A keen attention to detail and a passion for finding solutions to challenging problems.
• Computer literacy is essential for the desk-based component

Shifts

This role is looking for a minimum commitment of 1 shift per week, ideally for 12 months. Shifts available Monday - Friday 10am - 5pm.
