Founded 19 years ago, the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is Australia’s largest human rights organisation providing support to people seeking asylum. We are an independent not-for-profit organisation whose programs support and empower people seeking asylum to maximise their own physical, mental and social well being. We champion the rights of people seeking asylum and mobilise a community of compassion to create lasting social and policy change.
We are a values-driven organisation that strives to be part of a change movement that supports people seeking asylum by providing critical services such as assistance with accommodation, food provisions, casework and legal services.
The ASRC movement is proudly supported by a community of committed volunteers and supporters who embrace the organisation’s vision that people seeking asylum can live safely, sustainably, independently and equally.
The ASRC Cleaning Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of ASRC Cleaning – a social enterprise providing employment to people seeking asylum and offering professional, reliable cleaning services to a range of commercial and domestic clients.
Working closely with ASRC members, a passionate team of volunteers and the ASRC Cleaning Manager, the ASRC Cleaning Coordinator is the point of contact for customers, as well as a number of internal stakeholders. A lively, fast-paced and highly rewarding customer service and administration role, the Cleaning Coordinator facilitates the empowerment of cleaning employees by providing holistic support – through both effective operational coordination and maintaining strong communication channels.
By assisting the Program Manager to recruit, induct and onboard employees and volunteers, the Cleaning Coordinator is involved with all aspects of the operations of ASRC Cleaning, which – as an integral social enterprise of the organisation – continues to expand and support the ASRC and its broader work.
As a person who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service while supporting a group of individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, you will rely on your enthusiasm, patience and attention to detail to achieve the requirements of this role.
Your understanding of the social enterprise business model and strong communication skills will bolster your ability to guide and inform cleaning employees and volunteers, and allow you to assist cleaning customers with their enquiries.
In addition to your exceptional time management abilities and demonstrated skills in basic accounting and financial reconciliation, the successful candidate will possess:
