Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) has grown to become Australia's largest national educational program for children on the autism spectrum, with 9 independent schools operating from 50 locations in NSW and South Australia catering to over 1,200 students, with more than 100 classes hosted on the grounds of a less specialised school.

About the School: 

Aspect Macarthur School provides placement for close to 110 children on the autism spectrum from Kindergarten to Year 10. Our main site is located at Cobbitty with 4 satellite classes within the Catholic and Department of Education schools in the Macarthur area and an additional 2 satellite classes in the Northern Rivers (Alstonville) and a dedicated school in Coffs Harbour, NSW.

About the role:

Working within a team of up to 4 administration staff, you will provide expert, professional and timely administration support across all points of contact at the school to ensure all systems are effective, efficient and kept up to date and customer service is a positive experience for families and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide a high level of general office administrative coordination and support
  • Provide front desk cover as required
  • Prepare memos, reports, employment contracts and other documentsManage finance information and systems including banking and credit card statements
  • Prepare and submit fortnightly staff payroll administration and liaise with Aspect’s payroll team
  • Liaise with the Principal and Aspect management to support the coordination of maintenance schedules including property and fleet/asset issues
  • Liaise with Aspect’s IT team and assist staff with basic computer issues

Skills, qualifications and experience:

  • Outstanding communication, organisational and time management skills
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in the Strong Microsoft Office suite of software  
  • Experience with accounting processes and procedures e.g. banking, reconciliation and payment of accounts
  • Capacity to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to handle emergency and stressful situations professionally
  • NSW Working With Children Check for paid employment
  • Depending on the school’s location/requirements it may be essential to have a current driver’s licence 
  • A Light Rigid (LR) Driver’s licence is desirable
  • First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain
  • You may be required to provide an International Police Check clearance

The hourly rate of $34.08 hour is an adjusted averaged rate, to cover school term and non-term time on a regular, fortnightly basis throughout the calendar year. As a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI), Aspect employees receive tax-effective salary packaging opportunities including $15,899 each year tax free.
