ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Support Managers are responsible for a cluster of supported living services. They lead and mentor teams of Support Workers and are also assisted by a Practice Advisor. This critical role is responsible for the delivery of customer outcomes and for the effective management of services. They spend at least a day per week in each of the services under their management, ensuring active support is provided in a high quality environment.

This is a non-shift work fixed-term position located in Armidale. This role is ideal for an experienced person who is ready for an immediate start to join our team through until early January 2021.

The primary objectives of a Support Manager role include:

  • Ensuring person centred, quality outcomes for customers and their families
  • Minimising risks to customers and employees and ensure safe working environments
  • Meeting profit budgets including labour targets and minimise vacancies
  • Lead and develop capable and dedicated teams, committed to excellent practice
  • To ensure services adhere to regulatory and legislative requirements, run effectively, efficiently and sustainably.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for an energetic, dynamic person who is passionate about supporting our customers live a great life, to be active, inclusive participants in their communities. You will also have experience managing, coaching and leading teams.

Your skills to motivate teams to embrace change, work through challenges, drive continuous improvement and support best practice would be an advantage.

Also, your strong knowledge of the NDIS environment and be ability to communicate sensitively and professionally with a diverse range of stakeholders, including families, carers, allied health professionals and service providers would be highly regarded.

To be considered for this exciting position you are required to address the below selection criteria in your application letter.

  • A minimum five years working in disability services or a similar environment.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Individual Support or related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of human rights based approaches and person-centred principles and approaches, including positive behaviour support and active support.
  • Ability to coach, mentor and develop teams.
  • Well-developed written, verbal and listening skills.
  • Capacity to implement change and identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Solid financial management capability (P&L's, rosters, budgets, multiple cost centres) and accountability for the financial performance of the portfolio.
  • Confidence and capability in using systems and technology.
  • Strong administrative skills: time management, coordination of tasks, efficient work practices.
  • Ability to plan and schedule own work independently, monitor progress against work plans and outcomes.
  • A commitment to contribute to continuous improvement, risk management and WHS requirements.
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence.
  • Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to bring fun to the workplace.
