The position

The Support Coordinator role is instrumental in assisting our customers to understand their NDIS Plan, assisting them to establish the supports in their plan and develop capacity over time to coordinate and manage their own supports.

The Support Coordinator is responsible for providing a high standard customer experience, connecting customers with local supports and helping them to get the most from their NDIS plan.

This position requires applicants to work between our offices of Burleigh (Gold Coast) and Beenleigh (Southern Brisbane).

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Provide high standards of professional customer service to new and existing customers.
  • Assist customers to build and maintain strong community relationships and local interests.
  • Assist customers to work towards the outcomes and goals outlined in their NDIS Plan.
  • Network effectively - internally and externally.
  • Action referrals in a timely manner for individuals.
  • Provide timely, accurate and analytical NDIA reporting.
  • Effectively record daily actions and manage billing processes.
  • Utilise practical problem-solving abilities to assist and mentor customers to overcome barriers to inclusion.

  • Passion for supporting the human rights of people with a disability.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong local community connections and relationships with businesses, individuals and/or families/carers.
  • Experience in the coordination of supports for high and complex needs
  • Knowledge of the mental health sector
  • Commitment to excellence in customer service
  • An understanding of the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of the company, employees, customers and their families.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Great organisational and time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong presentation and networking skills or the capacity to develop same.
  • Report writing, advanced literacy and analytical skills.
  • Able to work independently, as well as in a small team environment.
  • Knowledge of and awareness of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
  • High level of competency with Microsoft suite of programs.
  • A commitment to working within the Aruma, Code of Conduct, Values and Purpose to contribute to continuous improvement, risk management and WHS requirements.
  • Current Drivers Licence.
  • Possess Yellow Card and Blue Card or willingness to obtain prior to commencing.
  • Agreement to a National Criminal Record Check
