We are seeking a Recover at Work Advisor to work with injured workers and their managers to ensure a supported and timely return to work program, which maximises rehabilitation outcomes for staff and minimises the organisation's insurance premium, while maintaining a positive safety culture.
What success looks like…
- Employees who experience a workplace injury or illness are supported in a timely, appropriate and respectful manner and guided through the return to work process.
- Injured Workers are encouraged to recover at work with their peers and manager's support throughout the return to work and injury management plan.
- Communication is maintained between the injured worker and the workplace and all stakeholders within the injury management plan.
- Managers and supervisors are coached and guided on how to best support their injured worker return to work and on their obligations as a manager and the rights of the injured worker
Skills and experience that make you stand out…
- Ability to provide advice on workers compensation claims management and rehabilitation issues.
- Ability to effectively lead the coordination of workers compensation claims management processes and early intervention strategies at an individual and an organisational level.
- A true passion for assisting injured workers recover at work
- Current relevant qualifications in Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordination accreditation.
- Expert knowledge of the workplace, including jobs, processes, people and management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation and interpersonal skills, and the ability to deal with conflict and confronting situations.
- Knowledge of (or ability to acquire knowledge of) the Act and associated regulations and guidelines.
- Experience in (or the ability to acquire knowledge and skills in) injury management and return to work, including case and case load management skills.
- Ability to identify when workplace rehabilitation provider services are required.
- Completion of a criminal history check.
- Current 'C' class driver's licence
