We are currently seeking 2x Policy Officers (1x Perm FT and 1x 12 months FTC) to research and interpret information about the NDIS, the disability sector and all initiatives and developments that influence how we operate and our delivery of high-quality support to customers.

What success looks like...

You will be responsible for developing, reviewing and maintaining documentation that protects and promotes the human rights of customers, reflects best practice and supports staff to provide a high-quality customer service. You will also ensure:

  • All policy and project work which contributes to the development of high standards of practice will be carried out;
  • Accessible organisational policies, procedures and related documentation, which reflect best practice and meet state and national standards and legislative requirements will be developed;
  • Policies, procedures and related documentation will be promoted across the organisation;
  • Publishing of Aruma's Quality Management System (QMS) documents will be supported;
  • Aruma's Customer Journey and other practice tools will be maintained, updated and enhanced as required;
  • The written QMS will be monitored, reviewed and continuously improved;
  • The administrative requirements and activities of Aruma accreditation committees and projects will be supported;
  • Policy content will be developed and effectively communicated to a wide audience;
  • Projects and working groups related to policy work being undertaken.

Skills and experience that make you stand out...

  • Tertiary qualified (min. degree Level) in relevant field
  • An ability to develop and follow methodology to research a variety of policy areas
  • Highly developed spoken and written communication skills including the capacity to write executive reports, comprehend complex written information, produce verbal and written summaries and develop presentations to executive level
  • Highly developed ability to successfully communicate complex information to a wide audience. This includes successful communication to people with language and literacy levels, which may range from advanced to limited
  • Ability to meet deadlines, respond to rapidly shifting and emerging priorities and adhere to time frames
  • Well-developed computer skills -MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point; including the capacity to learn new systems
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Project management skills and experience
  • A strong understanding of the issues affecting people with disability and the delivery of high-quality disability support services
  • A demonstrated willingness to develop any required knowledge and skills
