Reporting to the GM People, Victoria - the People Partner plays an integral role in the provision of quality expert advice and support to operational leaders and frontline managers across the full range of HR and ER disciplines. They will also play a key role in the delivery of significant change projects, many being undertaken as part of a wider national agenda.

The People Partner will also manage a small team of People Advisors. Demonstrated experience in leading small teams is therefore essential for success in this role.

Our ideal candidate will bring to the table:

  • Proven track record partnering with senior leaders, forming positive working relationships, influencing outcomes and driving change, continuous improvement and capability uplift
  • Skills in developing productive working relationships with all key stakeholders in a unionised environment
  • As a key 'right hand person' to the GM People, the ability to provide analysis, feedback and recommendations on people issues identified in the business, and to implement agreed plans and actions
  • A strong command of the technology that can underpin and enable the success of a HR function, comfort working with HR systems to generate reports and people data, and the ability to translate data into insights that can inform people decisions and strategies
  • Strong experience in employee relations, investigations and grievance management, and the disciplines that are essential to rigorous ER case management
  • Extensive HR business partnering experience in a fast-paced and complex environment, ideally with exposure across the disciplines of workforce planning, talent acquisition, attraction and retention, IR and workplace change, employee relations, performance management and capability development
  • Track record in successfully delivering HR projects - drawing upon the skills and expertise of a wider P&C function.
