We are seeking a well rounded Communications Manager to partner with the Shared Services teams and to take charge of the internal and external communication needs of Aruma's major initiatives.

Reporting to the GM of Communications, you will be a strategic thinker who isn't afraid to be hands on, a team player who can build long-lasting relationships and have the ability to juggle multiple balls in the air!

What success looks like...

  • Develops and implements proactive communications for Aruma's Shared Services teams.
  • Builds a strong understanding of the Aruma brand, who we are as an organisation and what we do.
  • Protects the reputation of the organisation by creating and implementing crisis communications strategies.
  • Actively keeps finger on the pulse of best practice, and new communication techniques and implementing that knowledge at Aruma. 
  • Builds a strong network of media contacts who say you are easy-to-deal with and thank you for providing newsworthy and relevant content.
  • Your ability to be a mix of strategic, creative, proactive and hands-on, has staff across the organisation saying they value your communications expertise.  
  • Reports on all communications activities, identifies trends, and continuously makes improvements.

About you...

  • Relevant qualification/s and solid internal communications experience (7+years), with a proven track record of results
  • A strong understanding of internal and external communications best practice principles
  • Strong leadership skills, and an ability to build and motivate high performing teams 
  • An ability to be bold with your ideas and challenge the status quo - "we've always done it like this" isn't in your vocabulary
  • You're a team player who is willing to role their sleeves up to support the wider team when needed
  • An ability to be proactive, multi-task, prioritise and deliver to tight deadlines  
  • Strong understanding of MailChimp, or similar online Marketing platform 
  • Developed analytical skills, and an ability to understand and translate complex information
