About the role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated star to join our team in the role of Apprentice Chef. This role has the extra benefits of salary packaging, a fitness passport, no split shifts, balanced evening work and great industry conditions, all while working in a beautiful location and contributing to a business that makes a difference! The majority of shifts worked being between 7am - 5pm across Monday to Sunday (minimal night work)

Our Head Chef will support your development in all aspects of kitchen function, including using equipment, food preparation and cooking, menu creation and assisting in overseeing employee who work in the kitchen. Combined study and on-the-job learning will develop experience and knowledge in commercial cookery to achieve consistent, high quality food that exceeds customer expectations.

This role will suit someone who wants to work within a fast-paced hospitality environment, with a difference!

What success will look like:

  • Menus and function items are planned, prepared, and cooked to a high standard, with excellent food presentation
  • You delighted our customers
  • You maintained great relationships with your team and achieve great results together
  • You met all food safety, quality, and hygiene standards
  • You achieved your agreed learning outcomes.

Essential Criteria

  • Successful completion of the first two years of your apprenticeship
  • Passion and flair for quality food and presentation
  • Commitment to complete your vocational studies and apprenticeship
  • A practical understanding of WHS requirements
  • Ability to be flexible and responsive to changing circumstances, and work under pressure
  • Ability to respect and follow directions as part of ongoing coaching and development
  • Availability to work across a range of shifts on a rotating 7-day roster including weekends, public holidays
  • A current Australian driver's license

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience working with people with disabilities.
