Employed by the Australian Resilient Flooring Association Inc., you will be assisting the delivery of the Government-funded project, ResiLoop, to research, design and plan a national product stewardship scheme for resilient flooring products, including engaging participants across supply chains, coordinating recycling technology and reverse logistics trials, assessing economic feasibility and developing a roadmap for roll-out of an economically viable scheme.

JOB TYPE: Part-time, Casual – 15+ hours / week. The project is expected to be completed by 31 May 2023.

LOCATION: Flexible work arrangements, predominantly working from home. Office location in St Kilda, VIC.

MANAGER: Project Director – ResiLoop. The project team is accountable to a Project Steering Group, ARFA’s Executive Committee and the Australian Government.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Undertake research and investigations into product stewardship and industry practices
  • Review local and international policies and regulations
  • Assist in reviews and analysis or recycling processes
  • Develop and conduct industry/stakeholder surveys
  • Coordinate meetings and events including monthly Steering Group meetings and stakeholder events
  • Develop and manage a database of relevant project stakeholders
  • Write and produce reports and documents
  • Liaise with external technical and business consultants, government and industry stakeholders

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications: Attained or studying for a degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Science or Business, and / or experience working in the floor covering industry

Experience: Working experience in, or knowledge of the floor covering industry or building & construction industry, product stewardship, EPR, recycling, or construction waste recovery an advantage but not essential.

Skills & Abilities

  • Curious and solution focused; ability to think critically and demonstrate strategic initiative
  • Understanding of circular economy principles, product stewardship and current policies and regulations
  • Ability to understand and summarise technical information
  • Self-motivated, ability to work autonomously
  • Competent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, ability to write clearly and concisely in English
  • Highly organised and able to meet deadlines
