About the role

The primary focus of this role is to provide accurate, timely advice and administrative support on a range of HR matters across the organisation, whilst promoting a positive and inclusive culture. We’re looking for an energetic, proactive and dedicated individual with experience and knowledge across a breadth of HR functions. Our ideal candidate will have a friendly attitude with a passion for understanding and driving a positive culture throughout a diverse workplace. We are a highly flexible workforce, the current expectation is that the HR Lead will be required to be in the office for 3 days a week with the remaining 2 days working from home.

Responsibilities

Here are a few key responsibilities and experience requirements however, check out the Position Description here for the rest.

  • Recruitment – End to end including, position description creation, advertising, interviewing, reference checks and hiring;
  • Lead the on-boarding and online induction process for new starters and monitor probationary periods;
  • Lead and maintain all HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation;
  • Monitor and report on the online performance review cycle including communications, and provide guidance to employees and managers in preparation and execution of reviews;
  • Facilitate regular employee feedback mechanisms including the annual Climate and Culture Survey;
  • Program and deliver Arc’s Development Initiatives program;
  • Ensure Human Resources legal compliance by monitoring applicable state and federal legislative requirements and ensuring appropriate strategies, record keeping and administration;
  • Assist managers and employees to solve HR related issues;
  • Support all matters relating to Work Health and Safety ensuring legislative compliance;
  • Process any workers’ compensation claims;
  • Provide accurate, timely reports (HR Metrics, WGEA, WHS and ad hoc);
  • Demonstrate and promote behaviours in accordance with Arc@UNSW values and Code of Conduct

We are looking for

We are looking for a generalist with HR experience at a similar level, as well as experience and knowledge across a breadth of key Human Resource functions including recruitment, payroll, workplace agreements, employment legislation and workforce development. You will have experience working with Human Resource software systems and a high level of competence in Microsoft Office Packages, as well as experience in delivering services, including the ability to anticipate and resolve problems with practical and positive solutions.

Our ideal candidate will be able to work both autonomously and within cross functional teams, and be able to create and foster enduring and valuable relationships. In addition to strong interpersonal and communications skills, the candidate will bring strong ethics, a professional work attitude and an attention to detail to the role.

  • A base salary between $70,000 - $80,000 depending on experience
