The role:

Reporting to the Executive People and Culture, the Quality and Safety Officer is responsible for supporting the implementation of quality assurance programs to meet recognised standards as well as ensuring HelpingMinds is compliant with relevant Occupational Health and Safety legislation and best practice.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Play an active role in associated accreditation processes and coordinate requirements in conjunction with the Executive People and Culture
  • Maintain an up to date quality improvement register and audit schedule
  • Develop and maintain a Safety and Quality page on HelpingMinds intranet page
  • Monitor and update the document control register to minor updates of policies and procedures
  • Liaise with certification bodies to ensure audits are conducted and corrective actions are implemented
  • Implement appropriate statistical and quality tools to monitor and improve business performance
  • Maintain risk systems and registers for the organisation, including provision of advice and support to stakeholders and risk owners and regular monitoring and reporting
  • Coordinate regular occupational health and safety checklists for offices throughout the organisation and work closely with the Administration and Facilities Coordinator to ensure that identified hazards are actioned and rectified
  • Communicate Occupational Health and Safety updates to the organisation
  • Support the development of Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure safe work practices

What you will need to succeed:

To be considered for this role candidates will need to have the below essential qualifications and experience

Essential qualifications include:

  • National Police Clearance (no older than 6 months)
  • Current Drivers License
  • Qualifications in a relevant administration or health and safety discipline and/or substantial demonstrated relevant experience

Essential experience includes:

  • Experience in the administration and support of quality and compliance systems
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety legislation and best practice
  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of the Mental Health and NDIS Sector including accreditation standards and processes
  • Experience with quality management systems
  • Experienced with development of organisation wide policy and procedure
