We are seeking an individual with a strong passion and drive to engage and provide counselling support to individuals as well as groups. The successful candidate will provide a positive representation of the HelpingMinds brand while establishing and fostering close working links with relevant service providers in the area. The full-time Family Support Counsellor will be predominantly based in our Midland Office however, may be required to work from other HelpingMinds locations dependant on client demand. This position will require some outreach work to community groups in the area which may be claimed through the organisations mileage process. This is a 12 months fixed term position until 31/12/2020.
This is an opportunity for a client focused Family Support Counsellor with a primary focus on children and young people within a family context. You will have a demonstrated ability to respond quickly and early to make a difference in achieving outcomes for children, young people and families.
With a degree-tertiary qualification in Counselling, Psychology or Social Work you will have a minimum of 3+ years experience providing counselling support under this degree. You will pride yourself on being self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously while continuing to work towards team goals. You must have a demonstrated ability to consult, liaise and maintain close working relationships with other service providers.
Additionally, you will have the ability to provide advocacy services through effective oral and written communication skills.
In addition to joining a professional and dynamic team, you will receive support from experienced Team Leaders and Managers. This includes onsite supervision individually once a month with your Team Leader and Group Supervision once a month with your peers.
