The Australian Refugee Association Inc. (ARA) is a community-based organisation providing settlement, migration and other forms of assistance to refugees, migrants and other people of concern. ARA promotes a holistic approach to the needs of refugees and sees the final goal of settlement as full participation in the social, economic, cultural and political life of Australia while maintaining security of personal, family and community identity.

ARA is seeking to appoint a Project Officer – Disability Services with the ability to coordinate and deliver two new initiatives aimed at supporting culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) people with disabilities and young people in carer roles. The role involves project management, case management coordination, and the delivery of education initiatives regarding access to relevant disability support services. The role will also provide support and mentoring to Bicultural Case Managers and Disability Support Peer Mentors on relevant services and referral pathways for clients and communities.

The Project Officer will possess relevant tertiary qualifications in either Social Science, Social Work, welfare, disability or related discipline and will have specialist knowledge of disability and NDIA related organisations and services. They will also possess exceptional verbal, written and oral communication skills which will enable effective relationships and partnership development under both programs.

This is a full-time contract SACS Level 4 position of the SCHCDS Industry Award until June 2021 with the possibility of extension. Office location will be Salisbury.
