The Australian Refugee Association Inc. (ARA) is a community-based organisation providing settlement, migration and other forms of assistance to refugees, migrants and other people of concern. ARA promotes a holistic approach to the needs of refugees and sees the final goal of settlement as full participation in the social, economic, cultural and political life of Australia while maintaining security of personal, family and community identity.

ARA is looking to recruit a Manager - Settlement Services with passion and enthusiasm to take responsibility for the delivery of our settlement services programs. Reporting to the Senior Program Manager – Client Services, and working closely with other Managers and Team Leaders, the Manager will lead, support and mentor staff to deliver a variety of services to new arrival migrants and refugees in South Australia. The Manager will be responsible for the identification and ongoing development of new opportunities and programs and will coordinate both staff and volunteers to ensure the ongoing successful delivery and continuous improvement in areas of:

  • Settlement Services
  • Youth Services
  • Social Engagement
  • Cultural Support Programs
  • Community Capacity Building Initiatives

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven management capabilities and experience
  • Strong leadership, planning and decision-making skills
  • Proven program/project development and implementation experience
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills
  • Relevant sector knowledge and experience
  • The ability to motivate and support a team
  • The ability to establish relationships with partnering organisations and other stakeholders.

This is a full time contract until June 2022, SACS Level 6 position of the SCHCDS Industry Award. Office location will be Salisbury, South Australia.
