The Opportunity

The APNIC Foundation currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Monitoring and Evaluation Lead. The position would suit a motivated individual interested in supporting a unique group of programs focused on developing the internet in the Asia Pacific region.

The main purpose of this role is to ensure that the APNIC Foundation has a robust monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework designed to cater for a variety of projects and funding bodies.

This is a one year fixed term position working with the APNIC Foundation for 3 days a week (flexible work location and days available). This position is currently reporting to the Foundation CEO to ensure that the M&E framework(s) are designed and implemented to the highest possible standard, whilst supporting all projects to accurately capture, analyse and report on objectives, indicators and outcomes that inform internal and external stakeholder learnings and decision making.

As a priority this engagement will focus on the following activities:

  • Designing and implementing the Foundation’s M&E framework(s) to ensure that they can be adapted to the various needs of each program/project and relevant stakeholders
  • Ensuring that a robust set of data collection, analysis tools and processes are established to complement the M&E framework(s)
  • Leading the M&E implementation on current projects established in the Asia Pacific region
  • Contributing to and compiling regular reports for donors and key stakeholders that highlight areas of significant change, impact and performance outcomes for our projects/programs.

About You

To be successful in the role your background and experience should include:

  • Degree/qualification in a relevant field and a minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in M&E design and implementation
  • Demonstrated experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis at different stages of project/program lifecycles
  • Strong diagnostic, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, as well as experience compiling and writing reports to a variety of donors
  • Experience working in the development sector preferably in an Asia Pacific context
  • Knowledge of the Internet industry, science, technology and/or technical innovation sectors
  • Experience using a grant management system (e.g. such as Fluxx) and a variety of software tools to manage data sets and document program/project activities

Team and cultural fit are equally as important to us as your technical know-how, so you should demonstrate:

  • High-level capacity for adaptability, flexibility and commitment, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships across all levels of the organisation

It would also be nice if your skillset included:

  • The ability to speak an Asian Pacific language

Due to the regional focus of this role you will be expected to work flexibly across a variety of time zones. If travel is possible, some travel may be required

The APNIC Foundation is a Hong Kong registered non-profit with its main offices in Brisbane. The Foundation’s mission is “to increase investment in Internet development in the Asia Pacific region” to support the work of APNIC, the Internet numbers registry for the Asia Pacific. The APNIC Foundation and APNIC share a common vision of “a global, open, stable, and secure Internet that serves the entire Asia Pacific community”. Under its charter, the Foundation seeks to “advance education, on a non-profit making basis, in technical, operational and policy matters relating to Internet infrastructure”.
