Role description

We are seeking a hands-on digital marketer to join our marketing and communications team

You will be responsible for developing and executing CRM and email marketing strategies, building campaigns, converting contacts to members, and driving the digital conversion across Professionals Australia and its sub-brands and divisions.

You will be required to maintain core communications and marketing activities – including email journeys, reverse marketing, building key partnerships, services promotion, and internal communications.

You will become a key player in an active team of communications, campaigning, and marketing personnel, committed to implementing innovative marketing practices for acquiring and engaging new members. 

In this role you will have the freedom to be driven by the data - to test and trial alternative strategies to improve member acquisition and experience across all touchpoints, including email, SMS, in-app messaging, websites, social media and call centre contact. 

Reporting directly to the Marketing & Communications Manager, the successful candidate will have at least 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute end-to-end CRM strategies to attract and acquire new members
  • Develop and implement digital campaigns to build membership
  • Work with the creative team to establish and leverage best-practice inbound marketing
  • Utilise data to analyse our databases and results from CRM activity, establishing KPIs and reporting dashboards
  • Use insights to inform organisation-wide member retention and recruitment strategies, across brands and divisions
  • Ongoing review, optimisation and automation of existing workflows and campaign processes to drive greater operational efficiency, reduce cost to serve and increase member revenue

Experience and qualifications

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing.
  • Experience in digital marketing.
  • Experience with SEO, SEM, SEA email journey and automation
  • Experience in working with a CMS
  • Ability to use CRM platforms, and adapt to unfamiliar platforms
  • Demonstrated experience building and executing email campaigns, including use of marketing automation tools
  • Proficient in developing and optimising HTML email (including design and build) highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills- both written and verbal, with an ability to write creatively to ensure optimal marketing performance
  • Proven interpersonal and internal stakeholder engagement skills
  • A background or exposure with organisations connected with engineering, science or a related discipline or a strong understanding of the role of technical professionals
  • A belief and commitment to union values

Salary and conditions

Negotiable based on experience.

Flexible working arrangements and attractive leave entitlements including 12 rostered days off per year and 4 days paid shutdown leave.

Whilst the position is based at the Federal Office in West Melbourne, Victoria, we are open to applications from candidates in other states.
