We are seeking a National Coordinator, part-time (2-3 days per week), for the Survivors Teaching Students® Program with ANZGOG, the peak national gynaecological cancer research group for Australia and New Zealand.

STS is a volunteer program that brings the faces and voices of ovarian and gynaecological cancer survivors and caregivers into the classrooms of health professional (medical, nursing and allied health) students to teach them about women’s experiences with the disease. The program has over 100 trained volunteers is operating at universities and colleges across Australia.

The program was developed by the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance in the United States in 2006 and is operated under license in Australia and New Zealand by ANZGOG.

Key Responsibilities

The STS National Coordinator coordinates the recruitment, training and care of STS volunteers around Australia and for development in New Zealand. This role assists the Survivors Teaching Students Program Manager with the delivery of the STS Program to universities and colleges.

The coordinator is accountable for efficiency and effectiveness of the program volunteer operations and for the data collection and input for the program including reporting.

It involves organisation of the volunteer regional coordinators, session facilitators and team members and also the course coordinators at the Universities and Colleges, as well as liaison with internal ANZGOG team members.

The position holder also oversees the quality of relationships amongst the volunteers and between the volunteer regional coordinators and the Universities.

Requirements for the role:

• Relevant Tertiary education qualifications in volunteer management and/or well developed professional experience and developed skills

• Effective project management skills including small event coordination.
• Computer proficient with the Microsoft Office suite
• Community minded and committed to not-for-profit principles

• Experience with contemporary communications software eg zoom, CRMs, presentations, webinars
• Able to undertake domestic travel

A hybrid work arrangement is available – working from home and the ANZGOG offices, in Camperdown.
