About the Role:

The organisation is currently seeking a Marketing and Communications Specialist who would be responsible for supporting their WA brand, corporate communications, internal communications, media engagement and providing marketing and communications support.

As key member of the Marketing and Communications team, this role works closely with the Fundraising, Healthy Food for All and Operations teams to provide marketing and communications support and report on the success of activities undertaken.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general marketing and communications assistance including marketing collateral development and artwork support
  • Assist with planning, implementing and evaluating campaigns (e.g. awareness, fundraising, thought-leadership)
  • Plan and write communication content (including email newsletters, stories, articles) that supports Foodbank WA’s strategic plan overview and purpose
  • Assist with annual publications including Annual Report and Key Messaging Guide
  • Prepare timely and professional external communications for a range of stakeholders including charity partners, funders, food donors, government and other key stakeholders
  • Prepare media statements, respond to media enquiries, develop relationships with members of the working media
  • Plan and manage community-led and internal events (i.e. activations and volunteer recognition)

Job Requirements:

To be considered for this exciting opportunity you will have the following:

Essential

  • Experience in a similar marketing and communications role with proven abilities in developing and driving campaigns and strategies
  • Be a natural storyteller and ability to interview internal and external stakeholders to develop stories showcasing our impact and purpose
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and reviewing communication campaigns and strategies
  • Demonstrated experience in media engagement with generation of positive media coverage
  • Experience producing marketing collateral and documents including annual reports and e-newsletter
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and report writing skills
  • A commitment to quality control and meticulous attention to detail
  • High level administrative skills, including planning, problem solving and organising skills
  • Ability to proactively plan, organise and prioritise workload
  • Willing and able to work occasional evenings and weekends to support events
  • Valid WA driving license
  • COVID-19 vaccination certificate
  • Current and valid National Police clearance
  • Working with Children check/accreditation

Desirable

  • Degree qualifications in marketing, communications, or similar
  • Experience developing marketing materials utilising Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Experience working in a not-for-profit organisation
