Casual Support Workers - HORSHAM

annecto is a not for profit social purpose organisation, that is all about what's important to people. We are growing our team of Support Workers in Victoria's Horsham Region to work in the Community providing in home support. We value diversity and we need people like you.

About the Role:

Support Workers are at the forefront delivering quality care services in accordance with the needs of the clients. As a support worker you will undertake a variety of tasks to support clients to continue living at home and accessing their community. Support can be either in the home or in the community.

What you could be doing:

In home:

  • Assist with personal care tasks such as showering and dressing
  • Provide assistance with housework, such as light vacuuming, dusting and mopping of wet areas
  • Preparing a meal
  • Companionship

In the Community:

  • Transport to access their local community to shop or meet up with friends
  • Escort to medical and allied health appointments
  • Some manual handling with aids

What we need from you:

  • A strong desire to help people to remain at home and connected to their community
  • A professional outlook and ability to act in a compassionate, non-judgemental manner
  • A minimum of 3 days per week (not weekends)
  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability Care or higher, or currently studying towards
  • A police check that was completed within the last 3 months
  • First Aid completed with at least 12 months before expiry
  • Current CPR qualifications with at least 3 months before expiry
  • Current driver's license and own reliable vehicle

If you speak a community language such as Italian, Greek, Arabic or Vietnamese that would be wonderful but not essential.
