About headspace

headspace provides early intervention mental health services to young people 12–25-years old. headspace can help young people with mental health, physical health (including sexual health) alcohol and other drug services, and work and study support.

About the Position

As the team leader you will be responsible for the leadership, coordination, and delivery of headspace Functional Recovery Program (FRP). You will lead and work closely with a multidisciplinary team incorporating Peer Support Workers, Allied Health Professionals and Medical Staff.

Main areas of responsibility include group program coordination and delivery, supervision of staff and oversight and implementation of the Family and Friends Program (including the Family Peer Support Work (Family Mentor) Program). You will also support clinical work with young people seeking treatment within the Early Psychosis service and their families.

What we are looking for:

  • The minimum qualification required is an approved tertiary qualification and registration with the relevant regulatory body such as APHRA or membership of and adherence to professional standards, such as the AASW for Social Workers.
  • Advanced skills in clinical mental health including engagement, assessment, holistic treatment provision with young people and families presenting with a range of emotional, social, or developmental difficulties, including psychosis and alcohol and other drug difficulties.
  • Experience in the provision of strength-based supervision and leadership within a clinical mental health service, preferably in adolescent mental health programs with a commitment to strengths-based supervision and self-care.
  • A passion for youth mental health, in particular working alongside young Aboriginal people, their families and Aboriginal Controlled Organisations.
