About the Position

You will provide culturally appropriate and responsive direct support and groupwork to young people on the Gove Peninsula, through two main programs - #U-Turn and ReConnect. Using a trauma informed, strengths-based framework, you will ensure the #U-Turn service is supporting young people to engage in restorative justice processes, community giving programs and developing life skills to pathway into education, training and/or employment through the provision of support plans, family support, information, advocacy and group work.

In ReConnect, you will ensure the service is providing individual and family case support, conduct thorough case planning, provide information, referrals, advocacy and developmental group work which meets young people's needs. Both programs aim to build capacity of the target group and regional service system and raise community awareness about the nature, extent and appropriate responses to young people.

As the Senior Youth Worker, you will also provide guidance and support to other Youth & Family Services staff where required, attend relevant forums/meetings with stakeholders as designated by the Manager and contribute to reporting, team planning and other aspects of the service provision.

Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must possess a Working with Children (Ochre Card), a National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a current Northern Territory manual driver's licence.
