About the Opportunity

You will mentor and supervise case management staff working in the Moving On Service and ReConnect Programs to ensure the delivered services are culturally appropriate, trauma informed, and strength based. You will work to strengthen the allocated service and undertake service improvement projects using evidence-based interventions, innovation and good practice principles while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, standards, contracts, and legislation. You will lead staff to provide culturally appropriate support and brokerage assistance to young people aged 16 – 25 years, who have left the care of Territory Families CEO.

You will lead ReConnect staff to work with young people aged 12 – 18 years (who have left the family home or who are at risk of early home leaving) and families based on agreed casework plans, undertake group work, project work and community capacity building activities. This position requires well developed collaboration and networking skills to ensure the service meets the young person’s needs, builds capacity of the target group and regional service system, and raises community awareness about the nature, extent and appropriate responses to young people transitioning from the OOHC to adulthood and at risk of entering the homelessness service system.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in youth, community, or human services and a minimum four (4) years management and direct experience working with high risk / vulnerable young people and families in community-based environments
  • Knowledge of the youth health, youth homelessness, child protection system and local youth, family service systems
  • Experience in assertive outreach strategies and ability to effectively engage with young people with challenging and/or trauma related behaviours through the delivery of support and group work.
