About East Arnhem

Nhulunbuy is located on the Gove Peninsula, approximately a nine-hour drive from Katherine via the Central Arnhem Road and is the largest town in East Arnhem Land. The East Arnhem region is beautiful and diverse with remote and rugged coastlines and white sandy beaches.

Situated in the far north-eastern corner of the Northern Territory, the region covers an area of 33,310 square kilometers and comprises nine major remote communities, many homelands and outstations, commercial enterprises such as tourism and mining leases, and pastoral properties scattered throughout the council area.

About the Program

Anglicare NT’s Money Support Hub provide free and confidential financial assistance to people in Nhulunbuy and surrounding communities. Our staff provide free, culturally informed financial counselling, advocacy, financial literacy and education to individuals, families and groups. We work closely with community leaders and partner organisations.

About the Opportunity

As the Manager of Anglicare NT’s Money Matters Hub your role will be multifaceted. You will actively manage your own caseload, advocating for sustainable change, and supporting those facing financial challenges to build brighter futures. You will provide expert guidance across East Arnhem and contribute to our Anglicare NT’s Financial Inclusion endeavours. You will lead and mentor our diverse financial inclusion team and ensure that our services meet statutory requirements while being culturally sensitive and grounded in evidence-based practice.

This position has the option of fly in fly out from your home state. Travel to Nhulunbuy would be on a two week in community, two week off basis. Accommodation and flights to East Arnhem included.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Higher education qualifications in Human Services / Social Science / Health.
  • Diploma Community Services (Financial Counselling) and registration with an affiliated professional body.
  • Experience (5 years minimum) in leadership/management.
  • Proven expertise in stakeholder management, contract negotiation, program performance optimisation, staff development, and program promotion.
  • Insights into the challenges, opportunities and approaches required to strengthen and inform regional and remote service systems, planning processes, partnerships and service models.
  • Ability to work respectfully and collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, their families, communities, staff, and Aboriginal controlled organisations
