About the Position

You will provide assertive work and study support using the Individual Placement & Support (IPS) Framework to young people engaged with a clinical team at headspace Darwin. In collaboration with the young person, family/support and clinician, you will support young people between 15 and 25 years to improve their educational and employment outcomes to gain rapid, competitive and meaningful employment as well as career development.

You will assist young people who are not engaging in employment or education and may be at risk of longer-term unemployment or disengagement from school/work. The position will work closely with other public and non-government organisations to achieve the best outcomes for young people who are supported by headspace Darwin. The Vocational Specialist will be committed to the mission and embody the values of Anglicare NT and support core business by providing service, guidance and advice within the position’s specialty area.

To be Successful in this Role:

  • Demonstrated commitment to work respectfully and inclusively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and culturally and linguistically diverse people.
  • Demonstrated adherence to legislation, policies and procedures and a commitment to EEO, WHS, risk management and quality improvement practices.
  • Northern Territory Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).
  • National Police Criminal History Report (less than three months old) with acceptable outcome. Ability to meet 100-point ID and additional visa / overseas work compliance measures.
  • Northern Territory Driver’s Licence.
  • First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain within agreed timeframe).

You will uphold the values of Anglicare NT and provide quality services within the scope of the position and associated delegations.

Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must possess a Working with Children (Ochre Card), a National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a current Northern Territory manual driver’s licence.
