About the Position

You will provide clinical leadership and support to the headspace Palmerston team to deliver youth friendly, effective, flexible and evidence-based interventions to young people and their families. You will provide direct clinical care to young people who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues and clinical supervision to clinicians, Social and Emotional Wellbeing Workers and Peer Support Workers.

The Clinical Lead has overall responsibility for providing clinical leadership and ensuring that day-to-day clinical operations (inclusive of outreach work) are carried out in an effective way that meets the needs of young people, families and friends. The Clinical Lead will support the headspace Palmerston Centre Manager to ensure the efficient delivery of clinical care whilst managing referrals and enhancing relationships with private practitioners. In addition, the Clinical Lead will be required to engage in quality improvement activities which includes having an in-depth understanding of the headspace Model Integrity Framework (hMIF) and ensuring all Primary Mental Health Services staff are operating in accordance to the headspace Model of Care.

headspace Palmerston is a satellite service. The term ‘satellite’ refers to a headspace service which provides a reduced range of services and is linked to a surrounding parent headspace centre (i.e. headspace Darwin). You will be responsible in supporting the ongoing collaboration and integration between headspace Palmerston and headspace Darwin. Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must possess a Working with Children (Ochre Card), a National Criminal History Check (within 3 months)and a current Northern Territory driver’s licence.
