About the Position

You will work in a professional and collaborative manner to incorporate participation of young people and their families and friends in a meaningful and effective way into the ongoing operations and integration of the headspace Darwin centre and its satellite service headspace Palmerston. The term ‘satellite’ refers to a headspace service which provides a reduced range of services and is linked to a surrounding parent headspace centre (i.e. headspace Darwin).

The role will strengthen processes and support youth participation and engagement across the headspace services. The Community Engagement and Youth Participation Worker will coordinate, develop and deliver mental health literacy activities and events aimed at raising awareness of youth mental health difficulties, general mental health, headspace services and the importance of early intervention.

The Community Engagement and Youth Participation Worker will deliver mental health literacy and workshops to young people, service providers and community members about mental health difficulties and headspace services in an interactive and engaging way. The role of the Community Engagement and Youth Participation Worker will be to maintain and strengthen community engagement with networks and key stakeholders in the youth and mental health sectors.

You will uphold the values of Anglicare NT and provide quality services within the scope of the position and associated delegations.

Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must possess a Working with Children (Ochre Card), a National Criminal History Check (within 3 months)and a current Northern Territory driver’s licence.
