About the Program

Anglicare NT’s Housing Options Pathway Program (HOPP) in Darwin provides services to individuals and families who need support to maintain their tenancy. The program offers case management, mentoring, training, and support for developing life and tenancy skills.

About the Opportunity.

As the Case Manager you will provide culturally appropriate support and case management assistance to clients who are homeless, experiencing tenancy issues and/or at risk of homelessness. Using a culturally safe, trauma informed, strength-based framework, you will provide accommodation, tenancy support, information, referrals, advocacy, and group work in order to meet participants needs.

You will use your excellent communication and people skills to develop positive working relationships with stakeholders such as Territory Families, Department of Housing & Community Development Services and DFV support services to provide quality outcomes for Anglicare NT participants.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Qualifications in Human Services / Social Sciences combined with at a minimum of one- or two-years direct experience working with high risk / vulnerable people and families in community-based environments is essential.
  • Knowledge of the housing & homelessness system, child protection system and local youth, family service
  • Demonstrated experience in assessment, assertive outreach strategies and ability to effectively managing complex issues relating to homelessness and assisting families to sustain tenancies in the longer term.
  • Prior experience or, at a minimum, demonstrated commitment to working respectfully with Indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse clients, communities, staff, and Aboriginal controlled organisations.
