About the Role: 

The North Region includes a number of residential homes and as well as specialist programs such as KEYS, all designed and implemented by a large team, utilising a knowledge of theories relating to trauma informed service provision, effective communication skills and negotiation, the capacity to make professional judgements, and the ability to respond creatively to the needs of young people in often challenging and confronting situations.  

The Senior Team Leader role is responsible for providing a high level of operational management in order to minimize risk and maximize outcomes within Residential Care.  The role entails a number of key duties such as coordination of service delivery that provides genuine and positive outcomes for clients as well as operational organisation and management duties. The role works in conjunction with the program manager of the region. The position also involves overseeing the Lead Tenant program.

We currently have one ongoing Full Time position available.

About you:

To be successful in this position you will need: 

  • Tertiary qualifications degree level or above preferably in social work, psychology or behavioural sciences or equivalent. This qualification is support by demonstrated substantial experience.
  • Extensive experience working in the human service delivery system, with particular reference to OOHC statutory service provision – preferably Residential Care.
  • Excellent understanding of the Child Protection, OOHC Placement and Support services and Family Service system, including legislative and policy framework.
  • Excellent knowledge of, and experience in the application of relevant theoretical approaches that underpin casework practice (including theories of child attachment, development and abuse) to vulnerable children, young people and families.
  • Well-developed skills and experience in delivering programs and services within required time frames and budget parameters.

Please Note: It is mandatory for the successful applicant to hold a current Working with Children Check, A Victorian Drivers Licence and be prepared to undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to commencement.
