The Position:

Anglicare Victoria is funded by the Department of Health and Human Services to provide Home-Based Care for children and youth aged 0-18 in the Gippsland area. The service is funded to provide different levels of support including general, intensive and complex. The service also provides the Circle Program as part of the Home-Based Care which works in partnership with Australian Children's Foundation. 

The position within the Intake Team is a parental leave position and will be responsible for intake of placement requests, placement matching and case management of clients in the intake phase.

To be Successful in this Position You Will Need:

  • Sound understanding of Child Protection Legislation and knowledge of Out of Home Care placement and planning, child development, grief and loss and the impact of trauma and separation on children and young people.
  • A demonstrated ability to develop partnerships, liaise and consult effectively with a range of related services.
  • Commitment to systems maintenance and enhancement.
  • A sound knowledge of assessment skills.
  • Well developed interpersonal communication skills including experience in effective dispute resolution and diffusing and sensitivity around personal information.
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the purpose and values of Anglicare.
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work or other relevant area with demonstrated case work experience in Foster Care, Family Services or within the community services sector including assessment intervention strategies.
