About the Program

The Orange Doors brings together different workforces and practices to create an integrated Orange Door team and a consolidated intake point in each Orange Door area to create a new way of support for:

  • Women, children, young people and families experiencing family violence;
  • Perpetrators of family violence;
  • Families in need of support with the care, development and well-being of infants, children and young people.

The Orange Door team includes a mix of staff employed by FSV and staff employed by CSOs, Aboriginal services and DHHS.  For each launch site the size of the team will vary to reflect the local needs.

The Position

The Orange Door Practitioners will work as part of an integrated team to provide specialist support to perpetrators, adults, children and young people who are experiencing or have experienced family violence and families who need extra support with the care of children. Anglicare Victoria staff will be responsible for the provision of services to Men/Perpetrators. The role swill involve:

  • Screening and triage, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, targeted interventions;
  • Allocation services and coordination of referrals;
  • Collaborative working with the Hub team to support integrated risk assessment and planning, including participating in case conferences, meetings and the resolution of stakeholder issues.

We currently have positions available in our South Region based from Dandenong and our East Region based from Box Hill.

About you

You are someone with:

  • Experience working with perpetrators of violence, men / fathers;
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Early Childhood Specialist and/or related behavioural sciences at degree level with substantial experience; or associate diploma level with substantial experience in the relevant service stream;
  • Demonstrated experience working with children and families and/or family violence where there are complex needs and risk issues;
  • Resilience to work with and support clients who have been exposed to trauma;
  • Excellent risk assessment and risk management skills
  • Experience case managing those with complex needs

Please Note: It is mandatory for the successful applicant to hold a current Victorian Drivers Licence, a Working with Children Check and be prepared to undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to commencement.
