The Position

The Employee Services Lead will lead the Employee Services Team and will be responsible for ensuring we build and develop a great shared service function that supports and empowers employees and also protects the organisation.  

You will work on building on the foundations to develop an employee services function that looks after the administration of the employee life cycle activities, with particular focus on day to day queries, employment changes and compliance requirements.  Along with our policies and procedures, supporting implementation and administration to support our great workplace.    

Employing over 1700 people across Victoria, this role will be challenging and require someone with self-starter mindset, autonomy, independence and the ability to be agile to meet the needs of the team and organisation whilst being proactive in identifying areas for improvement and added efficiency.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Support and lead the Employee Services Team to ensure we delivery high quality and customer orientated service, by looking at the employee experience.
  • Set up systems and processes to manage the employee lifecycle activities from a HR perspective and build new ones to strengthen the organisation.
  • Working closely with others to strengthen and improve compliance and legislative requirements including giving advice and implementing new practices I.e. standardised position descriptions and remuneration and benefits
  • Leverage HR processes and systems to drive efficiency.

About you

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to interact positively with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds and to liaise with all levels of management and staff;
  • Demonstrated ability perform a high volume of work, to work autonomously, meet deadlines and to assess priorities;
  • Experience in managing HR issues and practice around remuneration, award interpretation, position description management and policy review;
  • Be reliable, dependable, flexible and agile to meet shifting demands and priorities.
  • Be accurate and have a keen eye for detail.
  • Experienced in Awards and Employment Legislation interpretation and advice. 

Please Note: It is mandatory for the successful applicant to hold a current Victorian Drivers Licence, a Working with Children Check and be prepared to undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to commencement.
