Your role:

The position is responsible for providing a case management service for children and young people residing in kinship care in the Inner West. The role provides short and longer term support for children and young people in statutory kinship care placements, aimed at enhancing the child/ren’s development and family functioning whilst ensuring stability and safety of all family members including reducing risks to the children’s safety and wellbeing.

Who we are looking for:  

  • Experience in child, youth and family welfare, with particular experience in Out of Home Care is highly desired.
  • Sophisticated understanding of the legislative, policy and practice environment of Out of Home Care or a passion for learning.
  • Skills and experience in supervision of carers is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in case management.
  • Well developed organisational skills.
  • An understanding of, and capacity to act accordingly to the principles and intent of  the Children, Youth & Families Act 2005. 

Please Note: It is mandatory for the successful applicant to hold a current Working with Children Check and be prepared to undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to commencement.  AV employees are required to either be fully vaccinated against Covid 19 or have a medical exemption. AV will require evidence that you are compliant with these requirements.

  • A salary at SCHCADS level 5 which equates to around $84,000 plus super
  • Flexible through the increments up to 5.3 (dependent upon experience)
