The Position:

The aim of this position is to enhance and resource family relationships and parenting skills in the Northern Metro region of Melbourne through the provision of innovative and effective education to parents, carers and professionals working with parents.

The Program Coordinator ParentZone Northern will work alongside the Team Leader, in partnership with families, the team and other service providers to provide appropriate, accessible and relevant parent education and support groups in the Northern region to parents, carers and professionals working with families. The role includes some group delivery, program development, stakeholder liaison, networks and events.

To Be Successful in this Position You Will Need:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in community development, social work, or related discipline and experience.
• Demonstrated experience in planning, establishing and facilitating group work, professional development and education, as well as an understanding of adult learning and group work theories.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise and negotiate with a multi-disciplinary team.
• Demonstrated ability to make sound judgements in relation to safety and wellbeing assessments of program participants.
• Demonstrated skills in any of the following areas: community development, adult education, parenting and family work, research and evaluation.
