Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an experienced Psychologist to assist the organisation in building practice approaches across our Children, Youth and Family programs to provide services to children, young people and their families from birth through to early adulthood. Using your outstanding relationship building skills and clinical expertise, you will support clients at risk of entering, or already interfacing with systems such as correctional and juvenile services, health and homelessness, and child protection.  

What can you expect to be doing?

  • Provide clinical knowledge and develop interventions in child, adolescent and adult assessment and therapeutic services
  • Provide discipline specific assessments including consulting, aiding advanced interpretation and undertaking standardised, reliable and validated psychometric assessments, as well as structured clinical interviews and assessments
  • Implement individual, family and/or other group therapies or programs using a range of models
  • Assist staff with complex clinical work of complex cases
  • Co-lead complex case work with other expert practice clinicians to optimise service delivery
  • Develop professional partnerships, both internal and external, to improve service outcomes

What do you need to bring?

  • Masters level qualification in Psychology and registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
  • Extensive clinical experience in the delivery of psychology services to children, young people and families
  • Strong clinical experience in the delivery of a range of evidence based clinical modalities relevant to child, adolescent and family wellbeing interventions
  • Extensive experience in the area of supervision of staff in a community setting
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out assessments and therapeutic interventions of a highly complex nature using a range of theoretical models in assessment and intervention, where trauma is an underlining casual factor
  • Ability to liaise with other service providers and professional groups, working collaboratively to achieve optimal outcomes
