Behaviour Support Practitioner - Hindmarsh or Kilkenny

  • Based at Hindmarsh or Kilkenny with travel across Metropolitan Adelaide
  • Deliver high quality Behaviour Support to adults, young people and children living with a disability and/or complex needs

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a highly motivated Behaviour Support Practitioner to work within our Disability and Mental Health teams. You will have solid experience in Disability and Mental Health and will call upon your comprehensive knowledge and expertise to work with customers, families, staff and other professionals who are involved in the support of an individual.

What can you expect to be doing?

  • Work in a team of Allied Health professionals, ensuring high quality services are delivered to adults/young people and children living with a disability, mental health, or other complex needs
  • Develop and implement Behaviour Support Plans by working closely with customers, families, staff and other professionals
  • Support family members and staff by delivering professional support, training and consultation
  • Create comprehensive behaviour support plans containing restrictive practices in consultation with customers, families, staff and other key stakeholders
  • Provide clinical assessments and advice to aide in the elimination of restrictive practices
  • Develop positive support plans in consultation with customers, families, staff and key stakeholders

What do you need to bring?

  • Bachelor of Disability and Developmental Education
  • Current registration with the DEAI
  • Solid experience and understanding of working in behaviour support with customers who have a disability
  • Understanding of the NDIS Commission, including NDIS Restrictive Practices and Behaviour Support
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, families and medical providers
  • Strong knowledge of complex behaviour support, including the development and delivery of innovative approaches based on best practice
