This is a rare opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people who wants to be part of team making a real and lasting impact for young people in the Pilbara region. This is a full time, ongoing position.
headspace, Australia's National Youth Mental Health Foundation, provides vital early intervention mental health services to young people with mild to moderate mental health issues affecting their wellbeing.
Our mission is to improve the mental and social wellbeing of young people by providing services that are welcoming, friendly, supportive and culturally safe. We have delivered the headspace Pilbara outreach service for 3 years and are excited to now expand with two new centres in Karratha and Hedland. As we prepare for this expansion we are looking for amazing people to join our team.

We are looking for a highly skilled, enthusiastic and motivated person to fill the role of Youth Wellbeing Worker - Roaming in headspace Pilbara. This role will be required to travel throughout the local communities surrounding Hedland, providing an outreach service to young people. The successful applicant should have the capacity to travel extensively (as a guide, away 3 days every fortnight as a minimum).
This role will provide comprehensive clinical assessment and brief interventions for young people and their families along with designing and facilitating group programs and attending youth focused activities or outings as part of the response.
In addition, you will assist in building the profile of headspace Pilbara by engaging in youth focused engagement activities and delivering messages around mental health literacy along with building effective relationships with the community and other service providers.

The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, Working With Children Check and a WA Drivers Licence.
