The Financial Counselling Team works with individuals, families and communities who are experiencing financial hardship to build their financial stability and resilience.
The service provides assistance to clients to gain an understanding of their own financial situation and to access appropriate support services. We provide support to clients to make informed decisions and take action as well as advocate and negotiate with creditors on their behalf.
More broadly, we work with the wider community to provide information relating to debt management, credit regulations and consumer finance issues. You will represent the program by participating at relevant external forums and will work to develop strong relationships with other members of the Financial Counselling Network.
As a Financial Counsellor Trainee, you will have the opportunity to be supervised, developed and trained as a Financial Counsellor whilst working towards a Diploma of Financial Counselling. You will work closely with and assist Financial Counsellors to deliver the service in order to relieve monetary pressures experienced by people in financial hardship.
This position is a full time (37.5 hours per week) maximum term contract and is based in Katanning. The successful applicant must reside in a daily commutable distance to Katanning township.

You must have working right within Australia and possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year and a valid WA driver’s licence.
