The Separation Services Program, based in Karratha, provides professional and confidential counselling, family dispute resolution, property mediation and support services to parents and children, assisting families to come to terms with separation and co-parenting, enabling and empowering them to move from “surviving to thriving”.

About you:

You are passionate about your professional practice and specifically about providing culturally appropriate services that aim to strengthen family relationships with a particular focus on the children’s needs. You thrive on establishing respectful, meaningful, inclusive and collaborative relationships with your clients. You are a highly skilled negotiator and communicator as well as a natural facilitator. Your ethical and reflective approach coupled with effective conflict resolution skills will see you excel in this space.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • hold a Bachelor's degree or above in psychology, counselling, social work or other related field
  • hold a Graduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution
  • have knowledge and experience in Family Dispute Resolution, Property Mediation, counselling and Child Focused Practice
  • be able to demonstrate understanding of the separation process, family dynamics and the needs of children
  • have knowledge of the effects of trauma and domestic violence on families, children and young people
  • have sound interpersonal skills
  • have ability to manage a complex caseload
  • have an understanding of current trends in in Family Law
  • be able to work individually and as part of a team

About the role:

As the Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner you will walk compassionately and respectfully alongside families. You will aim to provide alternatives to formal legal processes for families who want to improve their family relationships, to prevent separation and to facilitate parents to make arrangements in the best interests of their children after separation. You will assist families with parenting and property matters and capable of working with families with complex needs, including those with family violence issues. Anglicare WA takes a therapeutic and child focused approach in assisting families through separation. In the NW we also offer services aimed at improving family relationships and preventing separation by means of education and support.

This role is a full time max term contract until 30 June 2021, based in Karratha.

Remuneration

  • Full time salary range per annum of $86,806 - $90,737 + 9.5% superannuation
  • Rent subsidy up to $300 per week and electricity allowance up to $1000 per annum available (eligibility criteria apply)
  • In addition to your remuneration, you will enjoy generous tax-free salary packaging benefits where you can package up to $15,900 per annum
