We are connected, proud of our impact, creative, high performing, inclusive and welcoming, and so are you!
As with most regional or remote operations, working in these environments can come with a range of great experiences and challenges beyond what you might experience elsewhere. You will develop and nurture relationships with local communities while embracing the unexpected, as every day will be different.
In return for your commitment to our vision, Anglicare WA provides the opportunity to make a positive contribution, and use your creativity and innovation to really explore your passion.
Anglicare WA is a highly regarded not for profit organisation, delivering a diverse range of community services throughout Western Australia. With over 600 staff and 320 volunteers, we are passionate about having a real and sustainable impact in the Western Australian community and to do this we need talented and engaged people who share our drive to achieve positive outcomes.
The role of the Family Counsellor provides person centred and culturally appropriate general, trauma and domestic violence counselling to individuals, couples, families as well as groups and prioritises clients referred on by CPFS. Outreach is a big component of this role. The Family Counsellor, in consultation with Manager, East Kimberley, also develops and implements a strategic plan for the promotion and delivery of education programmes in the East Kimberley communities.
This is a max term, full time contract until March 2021 based in Kununurra.
To be successful in this combined role you will have:
The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check and a WA Drivers Licence.
While your qualifications and experience tell us part of your story, your values and attitude speak louder still. At Anglicare WA we are all about people, placing people at the heart of our work. We are focused on strengths, believing in and amplifying the strength of people and communities. We are fiercely inclusive, making sure everyone can belong. As trusted partners we are curious and creative, always looking for new ways to do better. We are courageous and gutsy, tackling difficult issues, even when it’s hard. Do these values resonate with you?
Working on the front-line, you’ll make a direct impact to the lives of families and communities in East Kimberley. This role isn’t for just anyone. It requires hard work, resilience, a creative approach and commitment to best practice in your field. In return for your effort and dedication, we provide the support of an inclusive and welcoming community which encourages best practice – a community that really does make a challenging job easier!
