About the role

As a Community Educator you will deliver educational content to schools, parishes and community groups on critical social issues. You will help upskill younger generations to be empowered & engaged citizens on critical social issues. Topics will include:

  • Healthy relationships and preventing violence
  • Mental health
  • Poverty, inequality and homelessness

This is an extension of the exciting pilot program at Anglicare WA held this year, with a focus on presenting to students from years 5 – 12.

We are looking for multiple Community Educators to facilitate across the Perth Metro and Busselton area.

This is a casual role, the dates and times vary by school. You do not need to be available for all locations or all dates. Hours are likely to be 5-20 hours a month.

About You

You are a passionate and talented individual who is driven to deliver a quality service for our clients and to develop and inspire your team.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant field, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of the role of community education in contributing to prevention and early intervention.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering content on critical social issues, preferably housing and homelessness, poverty and inequality, mental health and/or family and domestic violence.
  • Experience delivering content using multiple formats to communicate with children, young people and adults.
  • Knowledge of pedagogical tools to increase understanding, empathy and inspire action among audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an organisation
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills

The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Drivers Licence and a WA Working with Children Check.

Benefits

  • $45.78 per hour (inclusive of a 25% causal loading) + 9.5% superannuation
