Supporting Children After Separation (SCASP) provides a safe, confidential and therapeutic counselling space for children and young people (aged approximately 5-17) impacted by issues and challenges of their parents going through separation and aims to develop understanding and skills in order to manage the new family situation post and whilst in separation.

About the role

You will join a passionate multidisciplinary team of like-minded professionals that focuses on providing customer service at the forefront of what they do while providing counselling to children and their families experiencing separation, which will include intake and assessment, counselling and referral with the added scope of promoting and delivering psycho-educational and therapeutic group programs for children and adults.

This role is a maximum term part time opportunity – 30 hours per week (0.8FTE) until 30 June 2021.

About you

You are a passionate and talented individual who is driven to deliver a quality service for our clients.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Tertiary Qualification 4 year Degree in counselling, social work or psychology and specialist expertise in relevant practice to the position and/ or a Masters in a degree relevant to the position.
  • Eligibility for professional association membership
  • Experience in adolescent and family counselling, and group work
  • Previous experience in community based programs or community based program development
  • Experience and skills in networking and liaison
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication
  • Knowledge of current counselling literature
  • Knowledge of current trends and resources in working with adolescents and families
  • Ability to work independently and innovatively
  • Employs an ethical and professional approach to practice

You also must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check, and a WA Drivers Licence.

Benefits

  • $80,296 - $82,018 per annum pro rata + 9.5% superannuation
  • In addition to your remuneration, you will enjoy generous tax-free salary packaging benefits where you can package up to $15,900 per annum and not pay tax on that amount
  • Additional 3 days (pro-rata) leave per year.
