The core mission of Anglicare (NSW South, West & ACT) is to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty for children, young people and families. We have a particular focus on serving vulnerable communities in the ACT and regional, rural NSW.

We are looking for experienced Youth Workers for our ITC (Intensive Therapeutic Care) Residential Services. We care for young people in statutory Out of Home Care (OOHC) aged 12 - 18 years who can display challenging behaviours as a result of their histories of trauma and neglect.

You will be able to assist young people with complex care needs, who have experienced trauma and abuse impacting on their mental health and wellbeing. You will support clients in their day to day lives, promote independent living, teach life skills, assist them to work towards their goals and help integrate them into the community.

You will need to have a minimum Diploma in Youth Work or other relevant tertiary qualification and relevant experience in OOHC, a variety of life skills, an understanding of the impact of trauma and abuse as well as the importance of self-care. Experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, communities and/or organisations is favourable. Great mentoring and communication skills are essential.
